Our story

The Harley Street Egg Bank was officially founded in 2020. We work in partnership with Harley Street Fertility Clinic, one of the UK's leading fertility clinics, to provide access to a large online database of UK recruited and registered egg donors.

We were founded with the aim of providing easy access to treatment using donor eggs within the UK. Thus alleviating the stress for patients of facing long waiting lists, synchronisation with donors or risking a donor changing their mind during treatment.

Harley Street Fertility Clinic was founded in 2010 with the aim of providing comprehensive, world class and easy to access treatment. As such, we have always tried to offer all services on site. We have offered egg donation treatment from the beginning as this is a treatment close to the heart of our founder, Dr Geetha Venkat. Dr Venkat contributed two chapters to the authoritative book on ‘Donor Egg IVF’, published in 2008.

Over the years we have performed numerous treatments involving egg donation and helped many people achieve their dreams of having a baby. Historically, many of these treatments were performed as fresh donation cycles, in which the donor and recipient's cycles are synchronised. However, when the Clinic switched to using vitrification (new fast freezing method) a few years ago, we found that the freezing and thawing survival rates for eggs was excellent. Hence, we began to freeze eggs from donors who could not be matched immediately with a recipient. This led to the creation of a bank of frozen donor eggs.

We have launched Harley Street Egg Bank to provide convenient access to our donor egg catalogue online.

We understand that starting a family is life changing decision and we are here to provide support and hold your hand through your journey.
