Wanted to help someone start a family of their own. Of mixed ethnic origin: Zambian (Father), Zimbabwean (Mother) and German (Paternal grandfather)
She was approaching her 30th birthday and wasn't sure whether her boyfriend and her would have children. So she wanted to help someone else with her eggs that would be wasted otherwise.
She always felt that she would want to be a mother and the thought of not being able would be heart breaking. Hence, it was a no brainer for her to help someone else have a child.
Having suffered miscarriages before having her children and being told she could not children, she understands the feelings people have when struggling to conceive. She wanted to help them overcome these issues.
A donor who decided to come forward when one of her friends had fertility issues and she could not find a suitable donor. She thought about her donation for 2 years and was then ready to come forward to help. She is happy to have contact with any child born from her "act of love".
Wanted to donate owing to a shortage of black egg donors in the UK. With rising infertility rates, she hope it would be her way of "paying it forward": if she is in the same situation, someone will come forward to help her.
As someone who does not wish to become a mother myself, it's great to know that my eggs can be used to help someone else create a family & a chance of new life.
I didn’t realise donating was an option before, and after talking amongst friends & family I realised that it’s a gift to be able to share this with someone. I have seen friends becoming pregnant, struggling with pregnancy & even some friends having no eggs to freeze. To be able to help with this would be a total pleasure and a joy. I would be honoured to support a single parent or couple start or extend their own family. I believe that children are a gift and I would love to support with giving this to someone.
Married in a same sex relationship. Tried to conceive through IUI and IVF with her wife, who after suffering losses, had their beautiful son. After testing realised that she was in a better position, fertility wise, and could help another family by donating. She realises how tough and cruel the journey to parenthood can be. Would love to bring joy to even one family who may not have had the chance of children.
